This is a World War One era United States Army Squad Cleaning Kit for the Model 1911 Colt Automatic Pistol in .45 ACP. It has the early blued steel box with "US" embossed on the cover. Inside is a wooden block that holds the original brass grease pot and chained oiler. Each kit would hold ten bore brushes, ten brass cleaning rods, and ten blued takedown tools. This particular kit has ten original blued takedown tools, nine of the ten original brass rods, and six of the original ten bore brushes (two are in poor condition). Box has most of its original blued finish present and has never been refinished. Nice example of the early Army Squad Kit that is one rod and four brushes away from being 100% complete.
