Remington Model 1889 Shotgun

This one is a 12 gauge w/30" barrels made of finely wound damascus steel and automatic ejector.  Antique Pre-1898 serial number. Checkered walnut stocks w/hard rubber buttplate containing the Remington Logo. Barrel rib is matted and is stamped with the Remington Arms Co. Address in Ilion NY.  Both lockplates are marked "REMINGTON ARMS CO.". Overall weight is 7 1/2 lbs. Overall condition is NRA Antique Very Good.  The barrels still retain much of their original browned finish with the damascus patterns are still nice and visible from breech to muzzle.  The case colors on the frame have worn to a mostly silvery to grey patina.  The are in VG+ to Fine condition overall retaining most of their original varnish with good checkering that's never been freshened or re-cut.  Buttplate has a minor chip at the very bottom toe which is only along the outer border and does not affect the checkering design on the hard rubber.  Action works nicely....closes smoothly with no play or wiggle between the barrels and the frame.  Bores show some scattered pits with a slight sheen overall and with no rings or bulges present.
