Nice early Remington No. 1 Smoot Revolver w/fixed recoil shield.  Caliber is .30 Rimfire.  Nickel finish with case colored hammer.  Serial number inside of grips is #114 which unless its a batch#, is a good low serial number.  The grips are real ivory stocks, not the faux ivory made of celluloid plastic that Remington was famous for using.    Grips fit well with the exception of some slight shrinkage near the top.  Nice, yellow appearance and appear to have been on this revolver forever.  Overall condition is NRA Antique Excellent with 97% original nickel on barrel, frame, and cylinder.  Hammer has 85% original case colors.  Nice working action which seems to be the norm on these well-built Remingtons.  Bore is Good+.  Barrel clearly marked "E. REMINGTON & SONS ILION PAT W. SMOOT OCT 21 1873".  Ivory grips are in Very Good condition with no chips, cracks, crazing, or repairs.  This is straight out of an old Remington collection.
