S&W Double Action Frontier Revolver w/ Factory Letter

Smith And Wesson Double Action Frontier Revolver in the desirable 44-40 Caliber and 5" barrel.  It comes with a Factory Letter from S&W Historian Roy Jinks stating this revolver was shipped in Blued finish with and black checkered hard rubber grips to Simmons Hardware Co. located in Saint Louis, Missouri.  The DA Frontier was produced from 1886 to 1913 with the entire production deemed Pre-1898 antiques as according to S&W, all frames were produced before the year 1899.  Overall NRA Antique Excellent Condition with 75-80% original blue overall.  Nice bright original case colors on the hammer and trigger.  100% matching numbers on the frame, cylinder, barrel, and cylinder.  Hard rubber grips are in Fine condition with good checkering and no chips or cracks.  Good action and Excellent bore.  This is a nice pure unaltered example of an early large frame S&W double action.
