This is an early Third Model S&W DA in .32 S&W caliber that comes complete in its original box, cleaning brush, and leather holster. Over the .32 DA's nearly forty years of manufacture from 1880-1919 and through five different models, the 3rd Model accounts for just one year of manufacture between the years 1882-1883 and accounts for 6.5% of the total production. That said, these are not easy to find, especially 3rd Model in this condition or still in their original S&W box. Standard 3-1/2" barrel with five-shot cylinder and checkered hard rubber grips. Excellent Plus Condition overall with nickel plated barrel, frame, and cylinder that retain 98+% of their original plating. Hammer and trigger have most of their original case colors intact as do the barrel latch and trigger guard which are blued. Checkered hard rubber grips are Excellent with no cracks, chips, or repairs. The tiny patent date at the base of the left grips is still visible in good lighting. Screws, pins, edges, and markings are in perfect condition. Excellent mechanics. Bore is Good Overall...a bit on the frosty side with a few light pits.
