S&W Double Action Revolver in Original Box

This is a near mint example of the Smith and Wesson DA Revolver in .32 Caliber still in its original factory shipping carton.  This one is antique and quite early for a 4th model DA as its in the 66,000 range....circa 1884-85.  Patent dates on barrel run from 1865 to 1882.  Overall condition is NRA Antique Excellent Plus with 99.5%+ original nickel plating intact.  99% bright blue on trigger guard and barrel latch.  Strong original case colors on hammer and trigger.  Perfect unturned screws.  Excellent checkered hard rubber grips with S&W monogram. These are the only grips I can recall seeing with a S&W patent date on the bottom of the left grip which reads "PAT JAN 19. 78".  Action works perfectly.  Bore is mint.  Possibly unfired.  All matching numbers throughout.  Box is in Very Good condition with no tears, repairs, or pieces missing.  Side label is orange/red and confirms the caliber, finish, and barrel length of the revolver tucked inside.  Bottom of the box is marked with the serial number of the gun.  Original care and operating instructions on inside lid of box.  A strong example of a nearly flawless early 1880's vintage S&W DA revolver.
