Smith and Wesson DA 32 in Factory Box with Pearl Grips

This is an Antique 4th Model S&W .32 Double Action Revolver with Nickel finish and scarce Pearl grips.  Its still with its original factory shipping box.   Standard 3" barrel, and checkered hard rubber grips and 5 shot cylinder.  All matching numbers in the 116,000 range.  Antique, Pre-1898.

Overall, the gun is in NRA Antique Excellent condition except for some spots on the cylinder where the nickel has flaked and turned to dark patina...probably from black powder residue.  Otherwise, it looks like it spent most of its life in the box. The frame has 93% original nickel and 97% on barrel with some muzzle wear and just a few freckles in the nickel.  The cylinder has 75% original nickel but patchy with dark patina along the cyl body...flutes are nice. Good case colors on hammer and trigger. Trigger guards and latches on these were blued.  Both are  hazing over to patina with about 30% blue mixed throughout. Excellent screws overall.  The pearl grips are in excellent shape and fit up great to the metal.  These appear to be factory and they're 19th century...not later add-ons with the S&W medallion.  Best of all, they're not broken or chipped.  Good+ bore with strong rifling...still bright but some light pits that should grade up with a cleaning.

The box is original to this gun and is marked "SMITH & WESSON DOUBLE 32 ACTION NICKEL 3 INCH."  The box is in good condition overall with no pieces missing with a nice orange outer label (orange was for nickel plating, green for blued finish).  The outside of the box looks pretty respectable. A couple of the corners are starting to split but  overall, its in Very Good shape with good squared composure, not warped or bend.   The inside is also quite decent turning slightly yellow but shows minimal staining and abuse.

A nice example of a 19th century S&W pocket revolver with great grips and original box!  There aren't many 19th century weapons you can find of this quality, a major manufacturer that's still in the factory shipping box, without having to spend a mint!   These pocket S&W's have plenty of room to grow in value and seem to do nothing but go up every year.
