Smith and Wesson 1st Model DA Hammerless Revolver

This is a very early .32 Caliber 1st Model "Lemon Squeezer" Pocket Revolver with a low 4 digit serial number in the 1700 range.  3 1/2" barrel and 5 shot cylinder. This one was probably built at the start of production around 1888.  Barrel has numerous S&W Patent dates which range from 1877 up to 1885.  Nice bore and action works perfectly including the palm safety.  Nice screws, sharp edges, and crisp markings.  The gun is in NRA Antique Excellent condition with 96% original nickel plating intact with some minor freckling due mainly to age as opposed to wear.  Triggerguard still shows 90% original soft blue while the trigger still retains much of its original case color hardened finish.  VG+ checkered hard rubber grips with S&W logo that has no chips, cracks, or repairs.  A nice early example of a famous S&W pocket revolver.
