This is a scarce S&W 1-1/2 Revolver in .32 Rimfire with a scarce special order 2-3/4" short barrel. It has nickel finish with a nice pair of ivory grips. An interesting part of the short barrel variant is the barrel marking. On standard 1-1/2's with 3-1/2" barrels, the barrel markings are located along the top rib of the barrel. On the 2-3/4" barrels, there wasn't enough room along the top rib so S&W had to move these markings to the left side of the barrel (See photo). The ivory grips are period to the gun and may be factory originals as they fit perfectly and are numbered to the gun..
Overall Condition is NRA Antique Fine with 80% original nickel that looks to have been buffed a long time ago in attempt to brighten the wear spots and give the gun a more uniform appearance. Markings are in Very Good Condition and all edges are sharp. The ivory grips are in Fine Condition with no cracks or chips...and some nice age checking around the screw escutcheon. The action functions flawlessly and the barrel still latches up tightly to the frame. Good bore. A nice example of an early S&W with a desirable barrel length and ivories.
