Whitney Conversion Revolver

We just bought a small collection of Whitney Percussion revolvers.  In the group were not one, but three rare Whitney Navy Conversions to .38 rimfire. 

This particular one is the 25,000 serial range...right there in the US Navy range but has no visible Naval markings.  The other two that came with it were Navy marked.. The top of the barrel has only a partial address Whitney New Haven address. 

Overall condition is NRA Antique Good with 10% original nickel on the barrel, 60% loading lever, 15% frame, 65% hammer, 15% frame, 35% cylinder, 10% triggerguard, and 90% gripstraps.   The balance is smooth metal that has age to a light brown patina.  Some collectors call these "dirty nickel" guns.  Fair+ walnut grips. Nice working action and a good bore.  A decent example of a rare Whitney variation.
