Whitney .36 Navy Revolver

This is a good untouched example of a Civil War vintage 2nd Model Whitney Navy Percussion Revolver.  3rd Type with the V or Colt type Loading Lever latch and small trigger guard. 100% All matching numbers including Barrel, Frame, Cyl, Loading Lever, Pin, Trigger Guard, and Both Grips.  Barrel clearly marked "E WHITNEY (over) NEW HAVEN". Overall, this revolver has an attractive look to it.  The metal has turned to a pleasing soft grey patina that generally smooth with a few spots of light roughness on the barrel and frame. Loading lever shows traces of silvered out case colors and trigger has hints of original fire blue.  Brass trigger guard has turned to a nice patina. Good screws overall.  Very good walnut grips are solid and still very light in color with no cracks or repairs and exhibit good wood to metal fit.  Both grips are numbered to the gun.  Very good mechanics.  Good+ bore with strong rifling and some scattered pits.  A solid example!
